Mustard Seed Community Farm and I each had plant sharing events on Saturday. MSF at Romero House and mine (with plenty of great team members) here at Burnett Urban Farm where we also gave away homemade pizza made with flour I had ground from wheat berries from Early Morning Harvest.
About two and a half seed-starting flats with cells that are about one inch square of young but seemingly very healthy broccoli plants ended up here. A surplus, indeed. Some staff member or volunteer with MSF had started the seedlings, but MSF does not want them back. I have one friend who wants 24 of the plants, but I would bet that would still leave at least 100 plants.
I have been told there are three kinds of broccoli and am trying to find out for sure what they are.
Please get in touch with me if you would like some of the seedlings.
There are also several medium sized Spider plants (maybe eight inches tall) and some baby ones. Also, there are seed potatoes that need new homes.
